Really liked season 2, especially The Impossible planet/The Satan Pit and the finale. I have a few minor niggles, and a question.

First of all, I'm getting a new understanding for fanfic-ers - there is way too little snogging on this show. Or maybe that's just my present need to live vicariously, as far as romance goes, speaking... Seriously though, they had the Doctor and Rose running around giggling like honeymooners, or at least stoners, for most of the season, and still nothing. Barely a peck on the cheek even. What's up with that?

Which leads me to my first question - is there some sort of canon reason for the doctor not being allowed to say he loved her, or was that just a writing choise to emphasise his loneliness?

Also, funny dress choise for the director of a sectret government agency - wearing a jacket and no bra, or shirt. Sexy yes, professional no. Also funny in respect with the apparent no-touching, strictly PG [1] policy on this show otherwise. Which, oh dear, reminds me of the unfortunate, or possibly quite deliberate, placing of the flagstone girlfriend in Love & Monsters, when Elton said they even managed to have a sort of love life. That's a mental image I won't soon manage to get rid of.

I understand why they put the new companion (which, btw, sounds extremely suspect to me - but I'm probably ruined by firefly) in in the finale, but I wish they hadn't. I liked Rose, and was allready kind of pissed with how they got separated, so I'm not in the best of moods to accept this replacement person. If they go the romantic route with these too I'm going to be very dissapointed. Edit: Ok, so not the new companion. In my defense, she appears to actually become one eventually, so I was right in thinking Id heard the name Catherine Tate in that context.

And yes, before you say anything, I'm well and truly lost down the well of British cult TV. Bugger. Edit: BTW, no way am I ever watching the previous 26 seasons though - so if stuff seems to hint at important old stuff, I count on you guys to fill me in. Daibh, I'm looking at you.

[1] Which, also, whoa - they're not exactly sticking with on Torchwood... Not that I'm complaining. Although, for some reason, Captain Jack seemed more appealing on Doctor Who. Maybe he was more flirtatious and easy going.
